Apartment moves come with their own set of challenges — narrow hallways, tight stairwells, elevator reservations, parking restrictions, and move-in/move-out time windows. You need movers who deal with this every day and know how to navigate it.
We regularly move residents in and out of complexes throughout Columbia — along Little Patuxent Parkway, Broken Land Parkway, Snowden River Parkway, and across all ten villages. We know the layouts, the parking situations, and the management requirements.
Apartment moves are fast when done right. A studio or 1-bedroom typically takes 2–3 hours. A 2-bedroom is usually 3–4 hours. We send the right crew size so you’re not paying for idle hands and not waiting on an undermanned team.

Columbia has a lot of apartments – roughly a third of all housing units here are in larger complexes or high-rise buildings. The communities along Little Patuxent Parkway, the newer builds in Town Center near Juniper and Merriweather, and the older garden-style complexes in Wilde Lake and Oakland Mills all present different situations. Some have elevators, some don’t. Some have designated loading zones with time slots you have to reserve a week in advance. Others have parking lots so tight that a 26-foot truck won’t fit, and we need to stage a smaller vehicle for a shuttle relay from building to truck. The Town Center high-rises have underground parking with low clearances that rule out box trucks entirely. We’ve also learned that a handful of complexes in Columbia require your moving company to carry at least $1 million in general liability and name the management company as additionally insured on the COI – something most renters don’t find out until two days before the move. We handle that paperwork routinely, so it’s never a last-minute scramble for our customers.
