Savage is a compact community tucked between Columbia and Laurel along the Little Patuxent River. It's close, it's familiar, and we move people in and out of Savage regularly - from the historic mill area to the newer townhomes and apartments along Gorman Road.
Savage has a unique mix: historic properties near the old Savage Mill, mid-century single-family homes, and newer townhome and apartment communities developed in the 2000s. The terrain along the river is hilly, which adds complexity to moves in the older parts of town.
Savage's proximity to I-95 and Route 1 makes it easy to reach, but some of the streets near the mill and the river have weight restrictions and narrow passages. The newer communities along Gorman Road have standard access but limited guest parking. We plan our truck staging based on the specific address.
Savage to Columbia, Savage to Laurel, Savage to Jessup, Savage to Baltimore
The historic part of Savage near the old mill is charming but not built for 26-foot trucks. The streets are narrow, some have weight limits, and the homes along Vollmerhausen Road sit on hillsides that slope toward the river. We've done moves there where the truck parks on the main road and we shuttle items down a walkway to the house - or vice versa. The newer townhome communities like Savage Town Center are much more straightforward, but they still have the typical three-story staircase challenge. The whole area is small enough that we know it well, and we can usually give you a very accurate time estimate just based on the address.
