Catonsville is one of Baltimore County's most established communities, with tree-lined streets, a walkable downtown, and a strong sense of neighborhood. Our crews know the area well - from the bungalows near Frederick Road to the larger homes up toward UMBC.
Catonsville's charm comes from its housing variety - Craftsman bungalows, Cape Cods, colonials, and mid-century ranches dominate the older neighborhoods. Newer townhome and condo developments have filled in along the edges. Many homes have full basements, detached garages, and mature landscaping.
Frederick Road is the main artery through Catonsville, and street parking can be tight in the neighborhoods just off it. The older homes near the downtown core sit on smaller lots with shared driveways or alley access, which affects where we can position the truck. UMBC's proximity also means a steady stream of student and faculty moves.

Catonsville has some of the most character-rich housing in the Baltimore metro area, and that character comes with moving challenges. The Craftsman bungalows along Ingleside Avenue and Newburg Avenue were built in the early 1900s with narrow doorways, steep staircases to the second floor, and basements accessed by tight, angled steps. Many have been updated inside but the structural bones - the door widths, the stair angles - are original. We carry a toolkit on every truck specifically for disassembling furniture that won't clear these passages. The neighborhoods closer to UMBC are newer and more standard, but during August and January move-in seasons, parking and elevator access in the apartment complexes can be competitive. We recommend morning scheduling for UMBC-area moves to beat the rush.
